Description
In this 3-5 day Linear Relationships 8th Grade Project, students will plan a vacation in order to explore linear relationships. Students will apply discount options to their vacation expenses to explore the effect on the linear relationship.
Standards: CCSS (8.4.F) and TEKS (8.4C, 8.5I, 8.5B)
Students are winners of a vacation voucher that provides discount options on any trip within the United States. Students will plan their trip, then determine which vacation voucher option they want to redeem.
This real-world Linear Relationships 8th Grade Project is intended to provide engaging opportunities for extension and application of skills. It can serve as an assessment of students’ understanding while encouraging inquiry and critical thinking among students. This project is flexible in nature and includes teaching slides, warm-ups, exit tickets, student recording sheets and a project overview to help you structure class time and implement project components as smoothly as possible.
