You probably even have a TEKS-aligned textbook on the shelf, but either it does not go deep enough or includes content that is not relevant to the standards.
To ensure vertical alignment and create a cohesive content base, unit overviews provide you with a foundational understanding of where students are and where they need to go.
Each topic offers teacher tips that address engagement ideas or student struggles to streamline your planning. Pacing guides give you a reference of how to implement the various resources.
The guided notes provide visuals and scaffold the concepts in such a way that students refer back to them — a teacher’s dream! Real life application and problem solving strategies have been incorporated throughout the units to ensure that your students can apply the concepts.
Each unit includes at least six hands-on activities to support cooperative learning, higher-level thinking skills, and student practice in a fun way! Teachers have commented that they love hearing their students using academic language and justifying their reasoning.
Each unit includes at least one quiz and an editable unit test. This allows you to customize the unit test to meet the needs of your students. Perhaps you would like to reduce the number of questions or answer choices for an IEP or 504 plan, or maybe you want to offer a pre-assessment prior to teaching the unit. The editable unit test provides you the opportunity to make these customizations.
Each unit test is also available in Google Forms to ease the grading burden.
Algebra 1 doesn’t have to be taught from an out-of-date textbook.
Algebra 1 doesn’t have to be boring or stale.
Algebra 1 can be hands-on, cooperative, and student-centered. Students can enjoy learning Algebra 1 content, make real-world connections, and build their math foundation with the right materials.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you had a trusted source to utilize TEKS-Aligned resources?
Or even the reassurance that all of the standards are represented in the curriculum?
Algebra 1 TEKS-Aligned resources are no longer difficult to find or hard to come by. You won’t spend precious time modifying something to “make it work” or reinventing the wheel so that it meets the standards.
The Sunday Scaries are a real thing, but they don’t have to be.
When your lessons are laid out and ready-to-go, it takes a huge weight off your shoulders.
You can actually look forward to the week because you are prepared and rested. It is possible to leave your classroom on Friday afternoon without a bag of work to take home or a pile of papers to grade.
As former classroom teachers, we understand how teaching is a giant juggling act! You are doing your best to keep from dropping the ball and we want to help lighten your load.
So, are you ready to create an high-engagement classroom environment with standards-based lessons, all while saying goodbye to the Sunday Scaries?
To ensure vertical alignment and create a cohesive content base, unit overviews provide you with a foundational understanding of where students are and where they need to go. A common language is supported through vocabulary, so students are familiar with the same terms and references as they progress from middle school to high school. Each unit overview offers teacher tips that address engagement ideas or student struggles to streamline your planning. Lastly, big ideas and essential questions allow you to focus your students on what they can take away from the unit.
Oftentimes the most difficult aspect of planning is the pacing! While some students will need more time, and others will be ready to move on, the flexible pacing calendars give you a baseline to implement. From there, you can tweak the pacing for your students, but all of the prep work has been done for you.
Integrating the calculator is a key aspect of Algebra 1. The calculator reference guide outlines calculator skills used within the unit for both the TI-84+ and the TI-Inspire. The step-by-step directions will save you time, help you to clearly articulate how the calculator can be a support to your students, and maybe even teach you some new tricks!

A short, creative independent practice is included for each day. Some teachers choose to assign independent practice as homework, while others use them in math stations with small groups.
All of the unit tests are available as a Google Form for those who would like to utilize technology to auto grade and disaggregate data. Some of the test questions have been slightly adjusted to integrate with Google Form technology.

Our TEKS-Aligned Algebra 1 Curriculum has been in development since the fall, but not everything is ready for you yet! We have planned out an *estimated* timeline in which you can expect each unit to be loaded to your account. This timeline should provide you with ample time to familiarize yourself with the resources before you need to use them in your classroom. Please see the estimated timeline below:
Yes, the curriculum will still work for you because the units are organized in a logical manner. While the unit in and of itself is not editable, you can easily rearrange the order of the units and even adjust the pacing to meet your students’ needs.
We do have resources that are aligned to the Common Core State Standards for grades 6-8. Please click here for more information about the curriculum.
